LIZARD CRUISE – JULY 2010
From assembly points at Bodmin & Chiverton we joined forces and cruised via Carharrack, Stithians and Gweek to the National Trust Car Park at The Lizard adjacent to The Lizard Lighthouse. A superb sunny day was enjoyed by everyone. followed by a visit to Roskillys Ice Cream before heading back home.

CVWOC JAMBOREE AUGUST 2011
Photo gallery of CVWOC Jamboree in August 2011. In 2011 the total of vehicles entering the Show & Shine was in the region of 130. This makes it one of the largest Show and Shine events in the UK. Standards are always high and our judges sometimes have to rely on the minutest of details to separate entrants when awarding points.

WESS RALLY – STITHIANS 2010
2010 was the first year the WESS Rally was held at the Stithians Showground. Their event takes place the week prior to our Jamboree which has led to our inability to gain access to the site until the Wednesday of our week;this makes setting up a little more daunting for us as,after all, we are but a band of enthusiast volunteers.
This is a taste of their show which uses the whole of the showground. A good day out for the family for sure and, if you would like to volunteer assistance to us you may be able to gain free access if you help mus to run our pre event publicity stand this year.

Mt EDGCUMBE SHOW 2010
We attend this show every year as a Club. Entry is usually £5 per car and all proceeds benefit the Friends of Mt Edgcumbe the registered charity of Mt Edgcumbe House. An ‘all types’ show you will see most vehicle types from American to Super Car, all types of vehicle from English and European manufacturers, Military Vehicles, motorcycles plus, a large car boot/trade stand presence and access to the estate’s formal gardens and a beach overlooking Drakes Island and Plymouth sound. If your passengers would prefer time in Plymouth there is a regular ferry, the Cremel Ferry from the quay almost adjacent to the show site.

BAD CAMBERG SHOW GERMANY – JUNE 2007
In 2007 a group of Club members made the trip across the Channel to Europe and attended the car show on the Village Green at Bad Camberg in Germany. This show takes place every four years so the next one now will be in 2015.

CHARITY FUN DAY WADEBRIDGE JULY 2011
We received an e.mail inviting us to attend and, to show support I went along. There were a few other VWs present ,and, as ever, the weather was not great for the most part, with driving mist for much of the morning before a respite and clearance. The event was a hastily arranged affair due to a cancellation at the site but it seemed to go well with funds being raised for charity.

CRUISE TO NATIONAL MARINE AQUARIUM, PLYMOUTH – FEBRUARY 2010
Having met at Chiverton we cruised along to Bodmin to meet with the contingent mustering there to cruise to ~Plymouth and visit the National Marine Aquarium. En route we stopped off at the Route 66 cafe and enjoyed a drink and some food, then on to the Aquarium. A good turn out for the time of year and well worth the effort. I had never visited the Aquarium and, it would probably never have happened without some company to go with. Not cheap to enter but, not cheap to keep running either! Plymouth City Council showed how greedy they are with costly parking meters on the road but never mind, we had a good day out for all that.

BAD CAMBERG TRIP – OUR DAY IN BRUSSELS
In the main this gallery shows our day out sightseeing in Brussels with a few shots of a stop over on the way to catch the ferry and at another camp site.

BAD CAMBERG TRIP – A DAY ON THE RHINE
One of the planned activities on our trip was a river trip on the Rhine. We were blessed with rainy weather but thankfully the rain held off for most of the trip and we had a great day. Until you see it you don’t realise how busy the Rhine is. It is the equivalent of a British motorway with, it appears, every possible type of cargo going up and downstream in a constantly busy ballet. Containers, scrap and who knows what else passed us by.

BAD CAMBERG TRIP – ROAD TRIP TO BAD EMS & MARKSBURG CASTLE
We thought a trip to at least one of the Castles of the Rhine had to be made and, thankfully we chose Marksburg Castle. Built in the 1300′s the castle is, I understand, the best preserved medieval castle of the Rhine. We enjoyed a guided tour of the castle with an excellent English speaking guide, very knowledgeable indeed and enthusiastic about his subject. The photographs show most of the internal details of the castle as seen and it was a fascinating visit enjoyed by us all.
