The Olympic torch is passing through Bodmin on Saturday 19th and there
will be events taking place during the afternoon in Fair Park

I’ve spoken to Linda at Higher Golla Camp Site to see if members of the club can camp over the RTTS weekend.  This is also the Diamond Jubillee Bank Holiday and the first weekend of the school half term  She’s very happy to accommodate us.  I’ve advised her that we’ll be telling members to book directly with her.  I’ve said there may be 10-15 vans.

These are the details:

CVWOC Club Camping over the Run To The Sun / Diamond Jubillee Weekend – Friday 1st June to Tuesday 5th June

Camping has been arranged over the RTTS / Diamond Jubilee Weekend at Higher Golla Touring Park, Penhallow, near Peranporth.  If you would like to camp with the club please contact the owners Linda and Trevor and book yourselves in for the nights you are available.

It is £9 for a pitch, £2 per adult and £1.50 for children under 10.

We do not have the facility to accept – Debit Cards, Credit Cards or PAYPAL payments

due to the Constitution of our Club with all monies having to be in the control of two signatories.

This makes the use of PAYPAL not possible.  The cost of setting up merchant services

is not feasible for us either.

If you do  not have a cheque book a postal order is still a viable alternative and readily available.

Our next Committee meeting will be the additional Jamboree meeting at Laura’s on Friday 27th April.

Easter Sunday 8th April

Set up your stall from around 0900 with the event open to the public from around the 1000 mark. A chance to turn your garage clutter into spendable readies to fund your next improvements.

Oh yes, one last thing, keep willing the weather to be as good as it has been over the past few days. Don’t forget though we do have the hall to use if it is not dry and warm.

Normally continues to around 3.330 to 4.00pm depending on the weather.

From the feedback received from members we were expecting a turn out of at least 30 to play and booked the lanes accordingly to make sure everyone had a fair crack of the whip. On the day there were just 10 members/family members in attendance so we had more than a fair crack of the whip so to speak.

Such a shame the turn our was so small but those of us in attendance had a great time and managed to get two full games in. We used two lanes and only 9 bowled as Laura was under the weather and would have fallen over if she had even tried lol.

We have no March activity planned other than the Blue Anchor meeting night as the originally planned camping weekend was canceled as the VW Action weekend takes place only a couple of weeks after and, it too is on the Stithians area.

Hope to see more of you coming along as the year progresses.

It is the responsibility of the individual to apply for their entry sending the entry fee of £5.00 for each vehicle to Margo at the address shown on the entry form.

Somewhat nearer the time we will arrange meeting points on the route to the show and will aim to arrive at around 0900hrs to miss the major traffic holdups seen between Carkeel and the site.

The application form already shows you will be attending as a vehicle displaying with CVWOC and, to obtain the required windscreen entry ticket you must send your remittance in good time to obtain this from Margo.

Basically a show to commemorate the completion of a charity moped ride from John O Groats to Lands End and to raise further monies for the Brads Cancer charity.

Lindsay has booked a Club Pitch via Brian Burrows and Brian has offered us space for a Club stall at the show from which we can publicise our own August Jamboree. To reserve your pitch with the Club you can contact Lindsay via the contact us page to let her know how many will be attending.
