The Cornwall Volkswagen Owners Club was founded in the late 1960s by a group of like minded enthusiasts and ran successfully for 10 years or so. The club disbanded during the 1970s and was reformed in the early 1980s. Since then the Club has been going from strength to strength with membership numbers always peaking close to 200 each year. The Club embraces all types of Volkswagen and we welcome anyone who either owns a VW or is an enthusiast of the marque. You will find that both Aircooled and Water-cooled enthusiasts are made equally welcome and our cruises are always populated by both factions.

The CVWOC enjoys membership of the Association of British VW Clubs (ABVWC), a national body which links VW clubs from all four corners of the UK. Through the Association, certain discounts are available to our members and many of them have already taken advantage of the discounted car insurance schemes & RAC/AA membership available.
The club publishes a newsletter from time to time providing a means of communication for all club members.The frequency will depend upon the amount of copy available to be included, and, if copy is lacking it will be sent in the format of a diary of events card. If you visit the Club’s Blog site at http://cvwoc.wordpress.com and register you will receive virtually real time updates as each post will be sent out automatically to your E.Mail address and this keeps you up to date with any urgent news and forthcoming events. A good way to be reminded should you not have the time to visit our sites regularly.
We also have a presence on Twitter using the Twitter name cvwoc. The Twitter feed is also updated with posts made on the Blog and serves to keep you in touch with upcoming events.
there are also free Wanted and For Sale adverts for all members. When you join the club you will receive a club sticker, membership card and membership file which contains details of the club contacts, discounts scheme and in which you can keep your newsletters. When you join, why not email or send us a photo and a bit about your car? We are always looking to feature club cars in the newsletter and on this website.

We offer a wide range of social events throughout to year and we try to have at least one each month. These include a diverse range of activities including Camping Weekends, Quiz nights, 10 pin Bowling, Sunday Cruises, we even have a Christmas Party for the Children and, an annual evening Christmas Dinner for the adults, often subsidised by the Club incidentally. Families with children are also most welcome and indeed are a very important part of our Club activities. Above all, we offer a safe,friendly atmosphere where parents can relax in the knowledge that their children will be safe. If you are considering t becoming a member why not come along to one of the meetings first to see what we are all about?

Although the vast majority of our meetings are in Cornwall, we do have members from all over the country and anyone regardless of their domicile are very welcome to join. We attend many of the major VW shows around the UK every year and try to organise a Club pitch whenever possible. You will be very welcome to join us at these events and, once you are a member you will be able to camp in the club area set aside at our annual Jamboree.

Subscriptions are taken out on an annual basis with a rolling renewal date. This means that should you join in November your renewal will be due the following November with a reminder being sent to you a month or so in advance.
